ISJA Scholarship Opportunites
Ron Hayes Memorial Scholarship
In honor of Idaho Adviser Ron Hayes, a scholarship has been established in his memory. This scholarship will be awarded to five students from ISJA member schools.
The scholarships are $100 each to help with the costs of attending either
· the 2011 fall state journalism convention in Pocatello
or
· a journalism workshop or camp (award recipients must submit a copy of the application to a workshop or camp)
Applicants will submit a 300-word essay that addresses the following:
Describe a journalism experience that helped clarify your role as a journalist at the high school level, its importance in your eventual career, and the impact it has had in your life.
Include a cover sheet with your name, address,
phone, school and adviser's name and signature.
Application information and essay for summer workshops and camps must be postmarked by May 6, 2011. For the fall journalism convention, materials must be postmarked by September 26, 2011.
